Safety Rules

What we do, what you should do, and what we cannot do.

Version 2026-09-13.2, effective 2026-09-04.

What we do

Every account passes a government identity document check and a liveness check before booking or hosting.

Bookings can only name public venues from our catalogue. Residences, hotel rooms, vehicles and isolated locations cannot be selected.

A host publishes only the hours they are genuinely free, and confirms your booking within 15 minutes. A host who cannot make an hour they published declines it or cancels it, and you are refunded in full.

You can share your plan with a trusted contact, set timed check-ins, block anyone, and report at any moment.

A person reviews every serious report. Automated systems help us triage; they never make the final decision on their own.

What we ask of you

Meet only at the booked venue. If someone asks to move somewhere private, refuse and report it.

Tell someone where you are going. Use the trusted contact feature.

Keep conversation and payment on Timefolk, so there is a record if something goes wrong.

Leave whenever you want. Cancelling because you feel unsafe never carries a penalty of any kind.

What we cannot do

We cannot guarantee your safety, and we do not claim to.

We cannot summon emergency services for you. The app shows your local emergency number and can alert your trusted contact, but you must call for help yourself.

We cannot verify everything a person says about themselves. We verify that they are a real, identified adult — not that they are pleasant company.
