Provider Agreement (Host Terms)

The additional terms that apply if you host.

Your status

You host as an independent person, not as our employee, worker, agent, partner or franchisee. You choose whether, when, where and with whom to meet and what to charge within the published band. Nothing in these terms creates an employment relationship, and you are not entitled to wages, benefits or workers' compensation from us.

You are responsible for any licence, permit, registration or insurance that hosting for payment requires where you live (for example tour-guide licensing in some cities), and for declaring and paying tax on what you earn.

You must not offer, imply or accept anything outside the platform's scope: no intimacy, no private premises, no transport of guests in your own vehicle, no cash or off-platform payment, and no activity that needs a professional licence you do not hold.

Your independence

You decide whether to host, when, where, which activities, and at what price within your city's published band.

You may decline any request without giving a reason and without penalty. Declining never affects your ranking.

You may pause or remove your listing at any moment, instantly.

You are self-employed. You are responsible for your own taxes, and we will provide the earnings records you need.

How your listing is ranked

Search results are ordered by relevance to the guest's chosen activity, language and availability; then by proximity band; then by completed sessions and rating.

We do not sell placement, and paying us more does not rank you higher.

Fees

Timefolk charges a flat 20% commission on your core service price. You receive 80%, plus 100% of any tip and 100% of approved, itemised expenses (travel, admission, tickets, required equipment) that the guest accepted before paying. Expenses are never commissioned and must never be used to hide extra earnings. Card processing is paid by the guest, added on top of your price at checkout, and is never deducted from your 80%. A promotional rate can only ever give you more than 80%; it is shown with its expiry date. The commission recorded when a booking is created is the one that applies to it, whatever changes later.

Taking your earnings out is separate from the commission and costs a convenience fee of 1% of the amount withdrawn, plus whatever the payment provider charges to make that transfer, passed through at what it actually costs. Neither comes out of a session: your 80% is credited in full and these apply only when you withdraw. Both are named separately on the payout, so you can check each one.

The rate is shown in your pricing screen before you publish and on every booking.

Suspension and notice

If we restrict or suspend your listing we will give you a statement of reasons.

Except where an immediate safety risk or a legal obligation prevents it, we give at least 30 days' notice before terminating a host account, and at least 30 days' notice of material changes to these terms.

You may raise a complaint through the in-app appeal route, which goes to a reviewer who was not involved in the original decision.
