Content and Moderation Policy
How we review content, and how to challenge a decision.
Version 2026-09-13.2, effective 2026-09-04.
What we review
Profile photographs and biographies, before they become publicly visible. These checks are automated and run the moment you upload: a photograph that passes is published immediately, without waiting for anyone.
Listings, before they go live. In most countries these are approved automatically against published rules; where that is switched off, a person approves them instead.
Messages, for contact details and solicitation before a booking is confirmed, and for intent afterwards.
Review text, for appearance and protected-characteristic references.
How to report
Every profile, booking and message has a report control. Reports can also be sent to support@jointimefolk.com.
We acknowledge reports on a published schedule: within 5 minutes where someone may be in immediate danger, 30 minutes for sexual misconduct or coercion, 4 hours for harassment, and 24 hours for everything else.
How we decide
Automated systems can publish, hold or refuse a photograph or a listing on their own, and they do so at upload rather than in a queue. A person makes every decision about an account - suspension, removal, or any enforcement beyond a single piece of content - and a person decides every appeal.
You are always told when something of yours is held or refused, and by what rule. Nothing is refused silently, and an automated refusal can be appealed to a person.
We tell the affected person what was decided, the specific rule involved, the evidence category relied on, and how to appeal.
A held message is always disclosed to its sender, with a one-tap appeal. We do not delete messages silently.
Appeals
You may appeal any moderation or enforcement decision once. It is reviewed by someone who was not involved in the original decision, and you receive a written outcome.
Appealing does not affect your standing, and we do not penalise people for using it.
